What is a VRS file?

VRS files mostly belong to VisionRecorder. Understanding your VRS file: Your file may belong to one of several types. It could be a file used to record visual data, a file that holds a panoramic virtual reality scene, or even an eBook format. Each type has its own way to be opened and viewed.

• Vision Recording File: This file stores recording of visual data. It is used by the VisionRecorder application. If your file was created as a vision recording, use the matching viewer to play back the video content.

How to open VRS files

You need a suitable software like VisionRecorder to open a VRS file. Without proper software you will receive a Windows message "How do you want to open this file?" or "Windows cannot open this file" or a similar Mac/iPhone/Android alert. VRS file extension format:

To view or edit VRS files you need to know the file format, because it determines how the data in this file is stored. The initial characters of a file are called signature, sometimes also referred to as "magic bytes". The signature can be used to infer the file format. File extension, signature and file format must match; otherwise errors will occur when the file is opened. So you need a detailed analysis of a file to find out the format and the associated program. Below is our analysis of the VRS files:

VRS is not a commonly used file extension and includes various formats for various programs. The two most common formats are as follows:

• 30% of all VRS files use the same file format, which have the signature VisionRe. They consist of unreadable binary data. VRS files can be up to 1 GB in size, but are often around 85 KB - 240 MB. The file type is very recent. The files contain the following words: VisionRe, cordVRS1, device_serial, camera_id, device_type, data_layout, name and DL:Configuration:1:0. An example of a file name is recording.vrs or Demo.vrs. Files like these have the following tags: movie and video.
• 6% of all VRS files use the popular JFIF file format. JFIF is short for JPEG File Interchange Format. It is a bitmap graphic that uses JPEG compression. These files contain neither text nor words, but only data. Most of these files are 20 KB to 47 KB in size. Certain words are almost always found in the files, such as JFIF, NvdW, eyJhY and tExif. Files like these are about room, dining and living.

The remaining 64% of all VRS files are files with no common format, often e.g. WordPerfect Video Resource, XML, JetDB, Btrieve, product and Test.
