What is a VTD file?

VTD files mostly belong to Iris Sysinfo. VTD files are specialized data files that serve different functions based on the software that creates them.
They include:

• SysIris/Template data files: In environments like Iris Sysinfo and Visual FoxPro, these files store system details and design templates.

How do you open VTD files?

You need a suitable software like Iris Sysinfo to open a VTD file. Without proper software you will receive a Windows message "How do you want to open this file?" or "Windows cannot open this file" or a similar Mac/iPhone/Android alert. VTD file format:

Every file has a defined file format, i.e. how the data is arranged in the file. A file format is determined by the file extension and signature, so JPEG images have the extension .jpg and the first bytes in the file are ÿØÿ. Frequently, however, one file extension is used by different programs for different file formats, and one file format for different file extensions. So a detailed analysis of a file is vital in order to determine the format and the associated program. In the following you will find our evaluation of the VTD files:

As a file extension, VTD isn't very common and includes different formats for the applicable programs. The two most popular formats are as follows:

• 45% of all VTD files use the same file format, which can be identified by the letters "03 00" at the beginning. These files contain neither text nor words, but only data. The files are 340 bytes to 840 KB in size, with a median of 25 KB. It is a modern file type. The following keywords are characteristic: acName, adTimeIns and anUserIns. The file name tHE_SetItem.vtd or tHE_FinReportItem.vtd is characteristic of these files. Files like these are about item, subj, order, contact, report and address.
• 15% of all VTD files start with the bytes ENCDEF, which are crucial for this file format. These files are binary files, so they do not contain text, but only cryptic characters. The files are 1 KB to 13 KB in size, with a median of 2 KB. The files contain the following words: ENCDEF. A usual file name is $TAXFORM.vtd.
