What is a WDW file

Every file has a defined file format, i.e. how the data is arranged in the file. The file format can be determined based on the file extension and the signature (the first few characters of a file). Frequently, however, one file extension is used by different programs for different file formats, and one file format for different file extensions. If there are problems opening a file, you must first determine the file format used. Our examination of the WDW files comes to the following conclusion:

The WDW file extension is rarely used and is used by different programs with different formats. The file formats most commonly found in WDW files are:

• 60% of all WDW files are WINDEV Window files. They consist of unreadable binary data. The files are often between 16 KB and 130 KB in size. This file type is based on cutting-edge technology. The file name WIN_Main.wdw is characteristic of these files. Files like these have the following tags: import and fiche.
• 20% of all WDW files use the same file format, which have the signature WDW ASCII . These files are text files, so they contain words and text. The files are on average 490 bytes in size and range from 45 bytes to 780 bytes. Several words can almost always be found in the files, e.g. ASCII, TEXT 2 3, TEXT 2 1, TEXT 2 4, TEXT 2 2, TEXT 2 5 and GRAPHIC.
