What is a WFS file

WFS files mostly belong to Amazfit WatchFace Studio.

The WFS file serves two distinct purposes. It can be a Watch Face Studio project file or a waveform data file used in fatigue analysis.

• Watch Face Studio project file: This file is a ZIP-based archive created by Amazfit WatchFace Studio. It bundles design assets, configuration files, images, and metadata needed to build custom watch faces.
• Waveform data file: In some cases, WFS files contain waveform and measurement data. These files are used by engineering software such as Instron Fatigue Software (related to MTS 793) to record fatigue and test measurements. More detailed information is available at this webpage.

How do you open WFS files?

You need a suitable software like Amazfit WatchFace Studio to open a WFS file. Without proper software you will receive a Windows message "How do you want to open this file?" or "Windows cannot open this file" or a similar Mac/iPhone/Android alert. If you cannot open your WFS file correctly, try to right-click or long-press the file. Then click "Open with" and choose an application. You can also display a WFS file directly in the browser:. WFS file format:

The file format determines how the data is stored in the file. A file format is determined by the file extension and signature, so JPEG images have the extension .jpg and the first bytes in the file are ÿØÿ. File extension, signature and file format must match; otherwise errors will occur when the file is opened. If there are problems opening a file, you must first determine the file format used. Our analysis of the WFS files produces the following result:

WFS is not a commonly used file extension and covers different formats for different programs. However, the following two file formats are common:

• 50% of all WFS files are based on the zip format, so several files are combined and compressed into one WFS file. A WFS file can contain up to 250 files (mostly 10 - 50). File names inside are always honeyface.json, latest_preview.png, \res\, \res\drawable-nodpi\preview_circular.png and \res\drawable-nodpi\preview.png. You can see the included files and images by renaming the file extension to .zip and then double-clicking it. The average file size is 1 MB with most files being between 210 KB and 3 MB in size. The files contain the following words: honeyface.json. Such WFS files store data about black, rolex, speedmaster, browne, omega, chronograph, datejust, custom and tona.
• 10% of all WFS files start with the magic bytes 33 00 29 00, which are always the first bytes of this file format. They consist of illegible, cryptic characters. Most of these files are 68 KB to 100 MB in size. The files contain the following words: PCI2 (r) Location Version and Version E5. These files are attributed to stream.
