What is an XC file

XC files mostly belong to Notepad++. The XC file is a configuration file used in specialized systems.
It performs different roles depending on its origin. For example:

• XVM configuration: A UTF-8 text file that stores system parameters for device management (modXVM).
• Compressed data format: Contains compressed settings for printer control, known as the eXtended Package Configuration used by Xerox Printer Control.
• Game data configuration: Holds game settings used in development environments like Xcode (Xcode) and supported by Unity.

How do you open XC files?

XC file format:

To view or edit XC files you need to know the file format, because it determines how the data in this file is stored. The file format can be deduced from the file extension and the signature. However, different programs can use the same file extension. Furthermore, a file extension can be renamed incorrectly and double-clicking on it will then display an error when it is opened. If there are problems opening a file, you must first determine the file format used. Below is our analysis of the XC files:

The XC file extension is rather rarely used and includes different formats for different programs. The two most common formats are as follows:

• 45% of all XC files are based on the popular UTF-8 file format. UTF-8 is the World Wide Web's most common character encoding for Unicode. UTF-8 files can be viewed with any text editor. These files start with the 3 bytes  (hex: EF BB BF), the so called byte order mark (BOM). The content consists of binary data as well as text and words. The file size is in the range of 890 bytes to 20 KB. It is a modern file type. The file name xvm.xc or sounds.xc is characteristic of these files. Files like these are about battle, carousel, players, colors, labels, panel, markers, results, camera, hangar and normal.
• 15% of all XC files have the same signature XPCK. They consist of unreadable binary data. XC files can be up to 520 KB in size, but are often around 25 KB - 350 KB. The keywords XPCK are typical for these files. Some examples of file names are c20180601_p10.xc or c101.xc.
