What is an XLTM file

XLTM files mostly belong to Excel by Microsoft. An XLTM file is a macro-enabled workbook (spreadsheet) template created by Excel spreadsheet program. It contains predefined spreadsheet properties, formulae, and reports used as boilerplates for creating macro-enabled spreadsheets (XLSM). Although most XLTM files are shipped with Excel or downloaded from the templates menu, users may save an XLSX workbook as a template by pressing "F12" or clicking the "Save as" option in the "File" menu and selecting Excel Macro-enabled Template (XLTM) from the dialog. How do you convert XLTM files to XLS, XLSX, ODS, CSV, TXT, PDF, ...

It is possible to divide the data into several streams, and to store these streams in different places in the file. In this way compound document files support a complete file system inside the file, the streams are like files in a real file system, and the sections are like subdirectories. Compound files begin always with signature bytes D0 CF 11 E0 A1 B1 1A E1 (ÐÏࡱá). The app name of an XLTM file is Microsoft Excel. The file contains sections that are named something like DataSpaces and EncryptedPackage. The files are often between 52 KB and 2 MB in size.
