What is an XV file

XV files mostly belong to XLV Player. XV files are used for different purposes. The main type is a video streaming format used as a Pando Media Booster data file with the XLV Player for playback.
In other cases, the same extension is used in a way similar to a PPM image file format. This variant stores raster graphics and can be described as either a Portable Bitmap Image File or a Visualization Image File Format.

If your file is video, a dedicated player such as XLV Player is recommended.

If it is an image, consider using a viewer that handles PPM-type files.

How to open an XV file

You need a suitable software like XLV Player to open an XV file. Without proper software you will receive a Windows message "How do you want to open this file?" or "Windows cannot open this file" or a similar Mac/iPhone/Android alert. If you cannot open your XV file correctly, try to right-click or long-press the file. Then click "Open with" and choose an application. You can also display a XV file directly in the browser:.
