What is a ZPL file?

ZPL files mostly belong to ZebraDesigner. ZPL files are text files that contain printer commands written in Zebra Programming Language. They are used by Zebra label printers to receive and execute instructions for printing labels.

How to open ZPL files

You need a suitable software like ZebraDesigner to open a ZPL file. Without proper software you will receive a Windows message "How do you want to open this file?" or "Windows cannot open this file" or a similar Mac/iPhone/Android alert. If you cannot open your ZPL file correctly, try to right-click or long-press the file. Then click "Open with" and choose an application. You can also display a ZPL file directly in the browser:. An example of a file name is shipping-label.zpl or Amazon-ship-label.zpl. Such files sometimes refer to amazon and ship.

All other ZPL files (45%) have no uniform format, often, for example, Zune PlayList, UTF-8 and Start. Sometimes used for standard, playlist, upsshippinglabel, output, songs or zebra.
