What is a CURVE file?

CURVE files mostly belong to Curve Graphics.
  • Vector Graphics: CURVE files are mainly used as a vector graphics file format. They are often stored in a ZIP container. The design data comes from Curve, also called Curve Switcher. For more details, see Curve Graphics.
  • Blade Profile Data: A small number of these files contain blade profile data for aerodynamic analysis. This use is linked to XFOIL. More information is available at XFOIL.
  • 3D Model Data: Some CURVE files hold 3D model information by recording floating-point data in multi-dimensional space.
  • FilExt.com tip: If you have trouble opening a CURVE file, consider that it may be compressed. You might rename the file extension to .zip and extract the contents, or use the specialized software associated with each use case.

How do you open CURVE files?

You need a suitable software like Curve Graphics to open a CURVE file. If you cannot open your CURVE file correctly, try to right-click or long-press the file. Then click "Open with" and choose an application. You can also display a CURVE file directly in the browser:. Just drag the file onto this browser window and drop it.
