What is a CXF file?

CXF files mostly belong to Cuttlefish by Dev-cuttlefish. CXF files are mainly used to store network data definitions created by Cuttlefish network data visualization software for Windows and Linux. These CXF files are saved in Cuttlefish eXtended Format and they contain data such as colors, shapes, vertices, weights, layouts, graphs, and labels used to plot network data visualizations. CSF filename extension is also associated with the Chemical eXchange Format (CXF) used for the storage and transmission of molecular data across scientific programs such as STN Express. The Color eXchange Format (CxF) used to store color control data in various X-rite programs such as X-rite Color Master uses CXF filename extension. Third-party color management programs also support this format. The Color Engine developed by ESKO uses CXF files to save solid and overprint data color data. CXeditor maps creation software, saves maps (coordinates, drawings etc.) as text-based vector images in CXF files.

How to open CXF files

You need a suitable software like Cuttlefish to open a CXF file. Without proper software you will receive a Windows message "How do you want to open this file?" or "Windows cannot open this file" or a similar Mac/iPhone/Android alert. If you cannot open your CXF file correctly, try to right-click or long-press the file. Then click "Open with" and choose an application. You can also display a CXF file directly in the browser:. The file size is in the range of 1 KB to 9 KB. Several words can almost always be found in the files, e.g. SciFinder-js, g0e0c and sfweb. These files are often associated with structure.
