D1File Extension D1
File extension: D1
File type:  database file

What is a D1 file?

D1 files mostly belong to dBase. D1 files come in several distinct types that serve specific purposes.
This extension is most often seen as a DataFlex database file used in dBase systems to organize structured records. You can open these with a DataFlex or dBase viewer.
Other uses include:
  • HP network analyzer data file – Stores measurement data from HP8753D instruments; such files work with analysis tools like Keysight ADS.
  • Raw EEG data file – Holds unprocessed brain signal recordings; these files are used with software such as BrainVision Analyzer. Visit the Brain Products site for details.
  • TOA Paging Designer data file – Contains configuration settings for paging systems and may also be used as a PAVA configuration file by TOA Electronics. More information is available at the TOA Products page.
  • If you have a D1 file, check its origin to select the right application. A look at the file header with a text or hex editor can help clarify its format.
FilExt.com tip: Keep in mind that the D1 extension is shared across different applications, so the context is key.

    How to open D1 files

You need a suitable software like dBase to open a D1 file. Without proper software you will receive a Windows message "How do you want to open this file?" or "Windows cannot open this file" or a similar Mac/iPhone/Android alert. If you cannot open your D1 file correctly, try to right-click or long-press the file. Then click "Open with" and choose an application. You can also display a D1 file directly in the browser:. Just drag the file onto this browser window and drop it.

    D1 file format details:

Each file has a definite file format, that is, how the stored data is arranged in the file. The first characters in a file identify the file format, for example, HTML files start with the bytes <html>. If the file extension or signature does not match the file format, errors will occur when opening or editing the file. So you need a detailed analysis of a file to find out the format and the associated program. In the following you will find our evaluation of the D1 files:

D1 is rarely used as a file extension and includes different formats for different programs. The following file formats are most commonly found in D1 files:

The remaining 45% of all D1 files are files with no common format, frequently e.g. EEG. These files are often connected to data. If you want to find out which format your D1 file belongs to, just click on the button "Choose your .d1 file to analyze".
