What is a DEMO file

DEMO files mostly belong to Game engine. DEMO files are specialized recording files, mainly used by games to store in-game actions rather than video frames.
These files contain a log of commands and events that recreate a game session when replayed in the original game engine.
Main use:

Game recording: They capture gameplay sessions from titles like Counter-Strike: Global Offensive, Teeworlds (TrackMania demos) and others. This lets you review and analyze in-game events.

Other use:

Compressed data file: Some DEMO files are packaged using ZIP compression and may serve purposes like holding website template examples.

How to open:

How to open a DEMO file

You need a suitable software like Game engine to open a DEMO file. Without proper software you will receive a Windows message "How do you want to open this file?" or "Windows cannot open this file" or a similar Mac/iPhone/Android alert. DEMO file format:

The file format determines how the data is stored in the file. A file format is determined by the file extension and signature, so JPEG images have the extension .jpg and the first bytes in the file are ÿØÿ. If the file extension does not match the file format, double-clicking on the file will cause an error upon opening.
