FDS format details:
If you know the file format, you can also find out how to open or edit the file. A file format is determined by the file extension and signature, so JPEG images have the extension .jpg and the first bytes in the file are ÿØÿ. However, different programs can use the same file extension. Furthermore, a file extension can be renamed incorrectly and double-clicking on it will then display an error when it is opened. If there are problems opening a file, you must first determine the file format used. In the following you will find our evaluation of the FDS files:
FDS is not a commonly used file extension and includes different formats for different programs. The following file formats are most commonly found in FDS files:
- 25% of all FDS files have the same signature IIHIDTAG. These files contain neither text nor words, but only data. FDS files can be up to 27 KB in size, but are often around 7 KB - 19 KB. The file type was developed 10 years ago and is still in use today. Certain words are almost always found in the files, such as IIHIDTAG and F-7000 FL Spectrophotometer. Files like these are about data, prot and ugml.
- 9% of all FDS files are associated with Famicom Disk System disk image. They consist of unreadable binary data. The files are 65 KB to 750 MB in size, with a median of 40 MB. Several words can almost always be found in the files, e.g. FDS_Version = 1, HeaderSectionSizes_Bytes and HeaderSize_Bytes. Such files sometimes refer to channel.
The remaining 66% of all FDS files are files with no common format, often, for example, FireDAC database, ZIP, NINTENDO, FOCTF, HEAD and HDR. Often described as japan, mario, super, brothers or settings. Just click the "Choose your .fds file to analyze" button on this page to find out what your FDS file is.
