All about SDA Files
The SDA file type is primarily associated with Endpoint Encryption.
What is an SDA file?
How can I open an SDA file?
You need a suitable software like Endpoint Encryption to open an SDA file. Without proper software you will receive a Windows message "How do you want to open this file?" or "Windows cannot open this file" or a similar Mac/iPhone/Android alert. If you cannot open your SDA file correctly, try to right-click or long-press the file. Then click "Open with" and choose an application. You can also display a SDA file directly in the browser:. Just drag the file onto this browser window and drop it.

SDA file extension format:
Why is it important to know the file format? This is the only way to find out which program to use to open the file. Each file format has a unique extension and almost always a unique signature. For example, Microsoft Word documents have the extension .docx and the signature (usually the first 3 characters in this file) PK. If the file extension does not match the file format, double-clicking on the file will cause an error upon opening. If there are problems opening a file, you must first determine the file format used. Below you will find our evaluation of the SDA files:
SDA is not a common file extension and is used by different programs with different formats. However, the following two file formats are common:
- 25% of all SDA files start with the bytes 0B 42 69 6E 61 72 79 20 46 69 6C 65 01, which are crucial for this file format. The contents of these files cannot be read by a human; only a computer program can interpret the data. SDA files can be up to 370 KB in size, but are often around 38 KB - 150 KB. This file type is new and state-of-the-art. The following keywords are characteristic: Binary File, Document, ProtocolAndData, Name and BasicEndpoint. Files like these have the following tags: group.
- 7% of all SDA files internally use the Microsoft Compound File format, also known as Composite Document File format or OLE2 compound document format. This file format is used by previous Microsoft Office programs and other Windows programs and stores the data in complex containers and sections. Compound files begin always with signature bytes D0 CF 11 E0 A1 B1 1A E1 (ÐÏࡱá). There is also a unique Windows component object identifier (CLSID) which is 2e8905a0-85bd-11d1-89d0-008029e4b0b1. If you open these files in a text editor, you will see only illegible characters. The file size is in the range of 30 KB to 89 KB.
All other SDA files (68%) have no uniform format, often e.g. Self-Dissolving compressed Archive and ZIP. These files sometimes refer to track or lang. Just click the "Choose your .sda file to view" button on this page to find out what your SDA file is.

How to solve problems with SDA files
- Associate the SDA file extension with the correct application.
- Update your software that should actually open encrypted executables. Because only the current version supports the latest SDA file format. Search, therefore, e.g. on the Broadcom manufacturer website after an available Endpoint Encryption update.
- To make sure that your SDA file is not corrupted or virus-infected, get the file again and scan it with Google's virustotal.com.
- Click here to open your .SDA file online - secure, fast, and no downloads needed.
