FTL file extension format:
A file format defines how the data in the file is structured. The first characters in a file identify the file format, for example, HTML files start with the bytes <html>. File extension, signature and file format must match; otherwise errors will occur when the file is opened. When there is a problem with a file, the first step to solving it is to determine the file format. Our evaluation of the FTL files looks like this:
FTL is a very widely used file extension. The file type includes different formats for different programs. However, the following two file formats are common:
- 25% of all FTL files start with the bytes 3C 23, which are crucial for this file format. These files are text files and can therefore be read using a text editor. The files are 680 bytes to 12 KB in size, with a median of 4 KB. The file type is relatively new. Certain words are almost always found in the files, such as registrationLayout, <#import "template.ftl" as layout> and displayInfo. The file name login.ftl or template.ftl is characteristic of these files. These files are attributed to email, register, password, reset, index, reminder, actions, execute and update.
- 30% of all FTL files save the data in HTML file format. HTML is short for HyperText Markup Language. It is the standard markup language for documents designed to be displayed in a web browser. The contents of these files are easily readable with a text editor. The average file size is 8 KB with most files being between 1 KB and 30 KB in size. The keywords <head>, content, Transitional, <!DOCTYPE html>, PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD, DOCTYPE html PUBLIC, charset, http://www.w3.org/1999/xhtml, html xmlns, meta http-equiv, UTF-8, DTD XHTML 1, http://www.w3.org/TR/xhtml1/DTD/ and title are typical for these files. A common filename is index.ftl. Files like these are sometimes connected to html, body, mail, invoice, account and report.
All other FTL files (45%) have no consistent format, the following 15 formats exist: Faster Than Light mod, Family Tree Legends data, XML, JSON and Dear. Often described as family, tree, notification, user, invitation, request or scrap. If you want to find out what your FTL file contains, drag and drop it onto this page.
