What is a JSPA file?

JSPA files mostly belong to Adobe Acrobat Reader. JSPA files are used in several enterprise environments. In many cases, they hold a PDF document produced by a J2EE application. This PDF output is made to be viewed with a dedicated reader like Adobe Acrobat Reader.
Some JSPA files, however, contain HTML content. For example, they are used as:

Additionally, a subset of these files is used to store data, such as Canadian health data or report files from JasperReports Server.
FilExt.com note: When you encounter a JSPA file, inspect its content to decide how to open it. If it is structured like a PDF, use a PDF reader; if it contains HTML tags, your web browser may display it correctly; and if it holds data from a reporting tool, consult the specific documentation for that system.

How to open a JSPA file

You need a suitable software like Adobe Acrobat Reader to open a JSPA file. Without proper software you will receive a Windows message "How do you want to open this file?" or "Windows cannot open this file" or a similar Mac/iPhone/Android alert. If you cannot open your JSPA file correctly, try to right-click or long-press the file. Then click "Open with" and choose an application. You can also display a JSPA file directly in the browser:. Just drag the file onto this browser window and drop it.

Programs that open and convert JSPA files:

  1. Adobe Acrobat Reader
See the previous paragraphs to learn more about the main application. JSPA files are often referred to as Adobe Acrobat Reader data files because this type of file is primarily created or used by this software.
  2. WebWork
WebWork is a web application framework for J2EE. It is based on a concept called "Pull HMVC" (Pull Hierarchical Model View Controller). It has been moved into the Open Symphony project. A .jspa web extension, for example forum.jspa?forumID=1, represents a servlet alias and therefore .jspa files do not exist on the local file system. This file format is classified as Source Code.

JSPA file format:

Each file has a definite file format, that is, how the stored data is arranged in the file. Each file format has a unique extension and almost always a unique signature. For example, Microsoft Word documents have the extension .docx and the signature (usually the first 3 characters in this file) PK. File extension, signature and file format must match; otherwise errors will occur when the file is opened. Exact knowledge of the format is therefore important in order to solve problems occurring in files. Our examination of the JSPA files comes to the following conclusion:

As a file extension, JSPA isn't very common and mainly uses a defined JSPA format. But the following two file formats are common:

All other JSPA files (15%) have different formats, such as HTML. Tagged as configure, view, solicitud, report, excel or lista. If you want to find out what your JSPA file contains, drag and drop it onto this page.

How to solve problems with JSPA files

  • Associate the JSPA file extension with the correct application.
  • Update your software that should actually open documents. Because only the current version supports the latest JSPA file format. Search, therefore, e.g. on the manufacturer website after an available Adobe Acrobat Reader update.
  • To make sure that your JSPA file is not corrupted or virus-infected, get the file again and scan it with Google's virustotal.com.
