Opening KIP Files
The KIP file type is primarily associated with KIP1 Loader.
What is a KIP file?
Some KIP files are project files for gear design. These files use a ZIP archive structure internally and are created by software such as KIMoS5. They store design data and project details used in CAD/CAM workflows.
How do you open KIP files?
You need a suitable software like KIP1 Loader to open a KIP file. Without proper software you will receive a Windows message "How do you want to open this file?" or "Windows cannot open this file" or a similar Mac/iPhone/Android alert. If you cannot open your KIP file correctly, try to right-click or long-press the file. Then click "Open with" and choose an application. You can also display a KIP file directly in the browser:. Just drag the file onto this browser window and drop it.

Programs that open and convert KIP files:
- KIP1 Loader
See the previous paragraphs to learn more about the main application. KIP files are often referred to as KIP1 Loader executables because this type of file is primarily created or used by this software.
- OA-KIP (Client Data Transfer File) by van Ovost Automatisering b.v.The .KIP file format is an encrypted file format to exchange client data by E-mail between a central station software and clients. The Mime types used with this association are: application/octet-stream.
KIP file format:
Every file has a defined file format, i.e. how the data is arranged in the file. The initial characters of a file are called signature, sometimes also referred to as "magic bytes". The signature can be used to infer the file format. However, different programs can use the same file extension. Furthermore, a file extension can be renamed incorrectly and double-clicking on it will then display an error when it is opened. Knowledge is power - this also applies when dealing with unknown or faulty files. Our evaluation of the KIP files is as follows:
The KIP file extension is not widely used. Such a file is mainly used by one program with a specific format. But the following two file formats are common:
- 65% of all KIP files start with the bytes KIP1 crucial for this file format. These are binary files, so they do not contain words or text. The files are 120 KB to 300 KB in size, with a median of 280 KB. This file type is new and state-of-the-art. Certain words are almost always found in the files, such as KIP1Loader. An example of a file name is loader.kip or ams_mitm.kip. These files are often associated with mitm.
- 20% of all KIP files use ZIP compression, i.e. a KIP file contains several compressed files. The average file count is 17 with most KIP files containing between 2 - 30 compressed files. Common included file names are KIMoS5-00001-name.dat. If you'd like to see the images and files included, just rename the file extension to .zip and double-click. A typical file size is 190 KB. Several words can almost always be found in the files, e.g. KIMoS5 and contur1. Such KIP files store data about master.
All other KIP files (15%) have different formats, often e.g. RAR. Just click the "Choose your .kip file to analyze" button on this page to find out what your KIP file is.
Technical Data for KIP File Extension
The following listing is compiled from the database produced by the 'Associate This!' program, selected data from the main FILExt database and file extension information submitted by users.
EXEFile: %ProgramFiles%\Tencent\QQ\Timwp.exe %1
EXEFile: D:\¦+-¦QQ\¦+-¦+f+¦\--+¿+-+¦+-\Timwp.exe %1
EXEFile: %ProgramFiles%\ibibo\messenger\Timwp.exe
a kip executable file is a special file format and should only be edited and saved with the appropriate software.
How to solve problems with KIP files
- Associate the KIP file extension with the correct application.
- Update your software that should actually open executable files. Because only the current version supports the latest KIP file format. Search, therefore, e.g. on the manufacturer website after an available KIP1 Loader update.
- To make sure that your KIP file is not corrupted or virus-infected, get the file again and scan it with Google's virustotal.com.
- Click here to open your .KIP file online - secure, fast, and no downloads needed.
