Notes about the MBR file extension:
To open this file type, a required software must be installed. Without it you only see a Windows message "The following file cannot be opened
" (Windows 7) or "How do you want to open this file?
" (Windows 10) if you double-click the file. There click on "More apps"
and choose a suitable software to view such files on your PC or from email attachments.
The MBR file type is primarily associated with 'AS/400' by IBM. Right-click on a file system, library, or folder, and select Filter to define which contents you wish to view. The first part of the filter is the name of the object, and the second part of a filter is the file extension such as .LIB for a library, .FILE for a file, and .MBR for a member. You can individually define a filter for each directory. As an example, the AS/400 stores source code in source files. These source files have source members. The source member for an AS/400 object is where the code/definition is. The AS/400 uses the EBCDIC character set.
