NS1 file extension format:
To view or edit NS1 files you need to know the file format, because it determines how the data in this file is stored. A file format is determined by the file extension and signature, so JPEG images have the extension .jpg and the first bytes in the file are ÿØÿ. If the file extension or signature does not match the file format, errors will occur when opening or editing the file. So a detailed analysis of a file is vital in order to determine the format and the associated program. Our evaluation of the NS1 files is as follows:
The NS1 file extension is rarely used and mainly uses a defined NS1 format. The following file formats are most commonly found in NS1 files:
- 80% of all NS1 files belong to NetStumbler NS1 log. The content consists of illegible binary data, which can only be read and interpreted by the associated programs. The average file size is 9 KB with most files being between 1 KB and 21 KB in size. The file type is old but is used even today. Several words can almost always be found in the files, e.g. NetS. A usual file name is 20180601.ns1. Files like these are about scan, wifi and kaizen.
- 7% of all NS1 files use the same file format, which have the signature 2500:2000 time:0. These files are text files and can therefore be read using a text editor. NS1 files can be up to 550 MB in size, but are often around 1 MB - 540 MB. Several words can almost always be found in the files, e.g. 2500:2000, purple and time. A usual file name is video.ns1.
The remaining 13% of all NS1 files are different files with different signatures. If you want to find out which format your NS1 file belongs to, just click on the button "Choose your .ns1 file to analyze".
