How to open a PAZ file

You need a suitable software like 7-Zip to open a PAZ file. Without proper software you will receive a Windows message "How do you want to open this file?" or "Windows cannot open this file" or a similar Mac/iPhone/Android alert. If you cannot open your PAZ file correctly, try to right-click or long-press the file. Then click "Open with" and choose an application. You can also display a PAZ file directly in the browser:. PAZ file format:

A file format defines how the data in the file is structured. The initial characters of a file are called signature, sometimes also referred to as "magic bytes". The signature can be used to infer the file format. However, different programs can use the same file extension, and file extensions can be assigned incorrectly. When there is a problem with a file, the first step to solving it is to determine the file format. In the following you will find our evaluation of the PAZ files:

The PAZ file type is a very commonly used file extension and is used by different programs with different formats. But the following two file formats are common:

• 60% of all PAZ files use the same file format, which can be identified by the letters "00 00 00 00" at the beginning. These files are binary files, so they do not contain text, but only cryptic characters. Most of these files are 110 KB to 10 MB in size. The file type is relatively new. Some examples of file names are PAD00001.PAZ or PAD00002.PAZ.
• 10% of all PAZ files use ZIP compression, so several files are compressed and saved in one PAZ file. A PAZ file contains 31 to 37 files, the average being 36. File names inside are DB1.dbd, audit.d01, cal_1pt.d01, cal_2pt.d01, caldiag.d01, calmv1pt.d01, calmv2pt.d01, ck.log, cm.log, cm.old, config.d01, diag.d01, master.txt, om.log, om.old, operator.d01, ot.log, other.d01, pack.lst, params.d01 and qcsample.d01. You can see the included files and images by renaming the file extension to .zip and then double-clicking it. The files are 960 KB to 1 MB in size, with a median of 1 MB. Several words can almost always be found in the files, e.g. a``Pa, cd`i and audit.d01SDd.
