All about PLD Files
The PLD file type is primarily associated with LabelShop.
What is a PLD file?
How to open a PLD file
You need a suitable software like LabelShop to open a PLD file. Without proper software you will receive a Windows message "How do you want to open this file?" or "Windows cannot open this file" or a similar Mac/iPhone/Android alert. If you cannot open your PLD file correctly, try to right-click or long-press the file. Then click "Open with" and choose an application. You can also display a PLD file directly in the browser:. Just drag the file onto this browser window and drop it.

Programs that open and convert PLD files:
- LabelShop
See the previous paragraphs to learn more about the main application. PLD files are often referred to as LabelShop data files because this type of file is primarily created or used by this software.
- Messenger (Plus Pref Pack) by Microsoft CorporationThe identifying characters used for this association are - Hex: 50 4C 55 53 5F 50 52 45 46 5F 50 41 43 4B, ASCII: PLUS_PREF_PACK.
- Messenger Plus! (Backup Configuration) by Patchou
- MIE People (Database) by MIE Software Pty LtdThis file format is classified as Database.
- Oracle (Binary Module Text Form File) by OracleThere are two file extensions used by the library facility: .PLL files are the binary library modules. This file is portable across systems (but be aware of the inclusion or exclusion of path information that may make the module unportable - see a discussion of this later in the chapter). The file is created when you save the library in the Designer. .PLD files are the text form of the binary module. They can be used for source control. They are created with the command line option script=yes when you generate the form module using f45gen. Related links: Learning Oracle Forms 4.5

PLD file extension format:
Each file has a definite file format, that is, how the stored data is arranged in the file. The initial characters of a file are called signature, sometimes also referred to as "magic bytes". The signature can be used to infer the file format. However, different programs can use the same file extension, and file extensions can be assigned incorrectly. If there are problems opening a file, you must first determine the file format used. Our evaluation of the PLD files looks like this:
Files with the PLD extension are quite widely used. This file type covers a large number of different file formats. But the following two file formats are common:
- 20% of all PLD files save the data in Source file format. A source code is the set of instructions written by a programmer using a computer programming language like JavaScript, C++ or Basic. This code is translated into machine language by a compiler. The translated result is called app, program or executable. These files are plain text, which means they can be viewed with any text editor such as Windows Editor, Nano for Linux, and TextEdit for macOS. The files are on average 370 bytes in size and range from 280 bytes to 2 KB. The file type is a fairly new file format. The files contain the following words: function PreloadFiles takes nothing returns nothing, call Preload( "" ), call BlzSetAbilityTooltip(1097690227 and call PreloadStart(). An example of a file name is SaveSlot_1.pld or profile.pld. Files like these have the following tags: slot, save, manual, tester and flag.
- 25% of all PLD files start with the bytes --------------------------------- crucial for this file format. The content consists of illegible binary data, which can only be read and interpreted by the associated programs. The files are 3 KB to 290 KB in size, with a median of 6 KB. Several words can almost always be found in the files, e.g. ------------, Build, LabelShop Document, http://www.LabelShop.com.cn, for PosteK7 7, PosteK7 7.15.10 and for PosteK7 8. Such files sometimes refer to label, barcode and lable.
All other PLD files (55%) have no consistent format, the following 15 formats exist: CUPL PLD Program format, PhotoLine32 Document, Messenger Plus, DBPF and OOP. Sometimes used for last, player, profi, ultra, core, decoder, bundle or dtac. You can get all the details of your PLD file by dragging it onto this page or by clicking the button "Choose your .pld file to analyze" above.

How to solve problems with PLD files
- Associate the PLD file extension with the correct application.
- Update your software that should actually open data files. Because only the current version supports the latest PLD file format. Search, therefore, e.g. on the manufacturer website after an available LabelShop update.
- To make sure that your PLD file is not corrupted or virus-infected, get the file again and scan it with Google's virustotal.com.
- Click here to open your .PLD file online - secure, fast, and no downloads needed.
