What is a PQX file

How do you open PQX files?

You need a suitable software like Power BI Desktop to open a PQX file. Without proper software you will receive a Windows message "How do you want to open this file?" or "Windows cannot open this file" or a similar Mac/iPhone/Android alert. PQX file extension format:

If you can determine the file format, the associated program can also be determined. The initial characters of a file are called signature, sometimes also referred to as "magic bytes". The signature can be used to infer the file format. If the file extension does not match the file format, double-clicking on the file will cause an error upon opening. The PQX file extension is not common and is mainly used by one program with a specific format. But the following two file formats are common:

• 90% of all PQX files use ZIP compression, i.e. a PQX file contains several compressed files. Such a ZIP file contains 9 to 20 files with names like Diagnostics.pqm, [Content_Types].xml, resources.resx, \_rels\.rels, \package\, \package\services\ and \package\services\digital-signature\origin.psdsor. A little tip: If you rename the file extension to .zip and then double-click, you will see the included files and images. The average file size is 41 KB with most files being between 13 KB and 82 KB in size. Several words can almost always be found in the files, e.g. _rels/.rels. A common filename is MicrosoftCallQuality.pqx or iAuditorSigned.pqx. Files like these are sometimes connected to cdata, connector, powerbi and data.
