What is a PUI file

PUI files mostly belong to TSS-2. PUI files are configuration files that hold a program's user interface settings and layout details.
They function in two ways:

TSS-2 UI file: It stores interface parameters and control data for the TSS-2 system.

How to open PUI files

You need a suitable software like TSS-2 to open a PUI file. Without proper software you will receive a Windows message "How do you want to open this file?" or "Windows cannot open this file" or a similar Mac/iPhone/Android alert. A file format defines how the data in the file is structured. Often, the file format can be deduced from the file extension or the initial bytes (called the signature). However, different programs can use the same file extension. Furthermore, a file extension can be renamed incorrectly and double-clicking on it will then display an error when it is opened. • 60% of all PUI files start with the bytes PackageUI.TSS-, which are crucial for this file format. If you open these files in a text editor, you will see only illegible characters. • 20% of all PUI files start with the bytes ## POSTBUILDER_VERSION=20, which are crucial for this file format. The contents of these files can even be read by a human. The file size is in the range of 22 KB to 70 KB. The files contain the following words: POSTBUILDER_VERSION,   , ############ and # This. Files like these are sometimes connected to axis, mill and wedm.
