What is an SFD file

SFD files mostly belong to FontForge by FontForge. SFD filename extension is associated with video files saved in Softdec format. The SFD video file is a standard MPEG-PS container consisting of an MPEG video stream and a CRI ADX ADPCM-encoded audio stream. These SFD video files are commonly used to as cutscenes and action sequences of video games built for Dreamcast, Xbox, Nintendo, and other console platforms. SFD filename extension is also used by font data files saved in Spline Font Database (SFD) format. Such SFD files contain font information such as the font name, font family, weight, copyright, and license data used to create and edit fonts within FontForge (font editing software). SFD files may also contain music notation data of songs scored using MagicScore Maestro. Such SFD files contain information about time signatures, music notes, composer, song title, key signatures etc. Crysis, a first-person shooter video game also saves game data in SFD files.

SFD file extension format:

The file format, which is the arrangement and type of data in a file, determines which program can open the file. Often, the file format can be deduced from the file extension or the initial bytes (called the signature). Frequently, however, one file extension is used by different programs for different file formats, and one file format for different file extensions. So you need a detailed analysis of a file to find out the format and the associated program. Our evaluation of the SFD files looks like this:

The SFD extension is very commonly used. This SFD file itself is among the most popular common file types and is mainly used by one program with a specific format. The two most common formats are as follows:

All other SFD files (20%) have no consistent format, often, for example, ZIP and CRID. They are often associated with kcal, smcconfiguration, credits, ending, intro, light, nbwgk, start, story or sans. If you want to find out what your SFD file contains, drag and drop it onto this page.
