Opening SXB Files
The SXB file type is primarily associated with Elsword.
What is an SXB file?
Some SXB files work as backups for application settings. For example, ShareX saves its configuration in this format using a ZIP container.
How can I open an SXB file?
You need a suitable software like Elsword to open an SXB file. Without proper software you will receive a Windows message "How do you want to open this file?" or "Windows cannot open this file" or a similar Mac/iPhone/Android alert. If you cannot open your SXB file correctly, try to right-click or long-press the file. Then click "Open with" and choose an application. You can also display a SXB file directly in the browser:. Just drag the file onto this browser window and drop it.

Programs that open and convert SXB files:
- Elsword
See the previous paragraphs to learn more about the main application. SXB files are often referred to as Elsword games because this type of file is primarily created or used by this software.
- SalesLogix (VB Form/Script Transfer) by Best SoftwareSalesLogix is the customer relationship management solution. These files are called "bundles" in the main program. They are compressed collections of scripts, VB forms, or DB fields and data so that they can be transferred from one SalesLogix database to another. This file format is classified as Archive.
SXB file format details:
To find out what program is needed to open SXB files, you need to determine the file format. The first characters in a file identify the file format, for example, HTML files start with the bytes <html>. However, different programs can use the same file extension. Furthermore, a file extension can be renamed incorrectly and double-clicking on it will then display an error when it is opened. When there is a problem with a file, the first step to solving it is to determine the file format. Our examination of the SXB files comes to the following conclusion:
SXB is not a common file extension and covers different formats for different programs. But the following two file formats are common:
- 25% of all SXB files start with the bytes 04 00 01 crucial for this file format. These are binary files, so they do not contain words or text. A typical file size is 300 KB. The keywords type and typename are typical for these files. Such files sometimes refer to localstringdata, item, skill, dialog and quest.
- 20% of all SXB files start with the magic bytes 07 00 01 03 6B 65 79 01, which are always the first bytes of this file format. If you open these files in a text editor, you will see only illegible characters. The average file size is 160 KB with most files being between 2 KB and 600 KB in size. Several words can almost always be found in the files, e.g. chinese, eng_2, korean, koreanorg and eng_3. Examples of file names are localstringdata_buff.sxb. These files are often associated with buff and enpc.
All other SXB files (55%) have different formats, such as ZIP, type and Program. Often described as sharex, backup, achievement, string, local or data. If you want to find out which format your SXB file belongs to, just click on the button "Choose your .sxb file to analyze".
