Opening TAI Files
The TAI file type is primarily associated with WinAGI.
What is a TAI file?
For example, one common use is as a file for Test Analysis Instruments. These files use the Microsoft Compound format to hold measurement data such as tensile test results. They are typically used with software like WinAGI.
Another use is for a Transaction Application Interface. In this case the file records data for processing transactions and may be associated with certificate tasks (for instance, with a Taiwania PKI certificate).
A further type is the Texture Atlas Index file. This file stores index information for texture atlases that help organize many textures in game development. More details are available on Valve's developer page.
There is also a use where the TAI file is an AI file for game units, storing artificial intelligence instructions for game behavior. Such files are used in games like Age of Empires II, as noted on Age of Empires II HD.
- Test Analysis Instrument: Contains measurement data in a compound structure.
- Transaction Application Interface: Holds transactional and certificate-related data.
- Texture Atlas Index: Catalogs texture mapping for game design.
- Game Unit AI: Stores configuration data for unit behavior in games.
FilExt.com tip: Determining the origin of your TAI file can help you open it with the correct tool.
How can I open a TAI file?
You need a suitable software like WinAGI to open a TAI file. Without proper software you will receive a Windows message "How do you want to open this file?" or "Windows cannot open this file" or a similar Mac/iPhone/Android alert. If you cannot open your TAI file correctly, try to right-click or long-press the file. Then click "Open with" and choose an application. You can also display a TAI file directly in the browser:. Just drag the file onto this browser window and drop it.

TAI format details:
If you can determine the file format, the associated program can also be determined. The file format can be deduced from the file extension and the signature. However, different programs can use the same file extension, and file extensions can be assigned incorrectly. Exact knowledge of the format is therefore important in order to solve problems occurring in files. Our evaluation of the TAI files is as follows:
TAI is not a common file extension and includes different formats for the applicable programs. But the following two file formats are common:
- 30% of all TAI files start with the bytes ##TAICA## crucial for this file format. If you open these files in a text editor, you can view the contents and find segments of text. The average file size is 41 KB with most files being between 18 KB and 2 MB in size. The file type was created recently. The keywords ##TAICA##, DQEBBQUAMEsxCzAJBgNVBAYTAlRXMQ, GCSqGSIb, UECxMHUm, vdCBDQTEaMBg and wDAYDVQQKEwVUYWlDQTEQMA are typical for these files.
- 25% of all TAI files utilize the Microsoft Compound File format, also known as Composite Document File format or OLE2 compound document format. This general-purpose file format provides a file-system-like structure within a file for the storage of arbitrary, application-specific streams of data. Header signature for the CFB format with 8-byte Hex value D0CF11E0A1B11AE1 (which looks like "DOCFILE"). They consist of illegible, cryptic characters. Most of these files are 47 KB to 1 MB in size. Such files are related to flex.
The remaining 45% of all TAI files are different files with different signatures, often e.g. InterfaceShared. Files like these are sometimes linked to generic, bomber or atlas. If you want to find out what your TAI file contains, drag and drop it onto this page.
Technical Data for TAI File Extension
a tai data file is a special file format and should only be edited and saved with the appropriate software.
How to solve problems with TAI files
- Associate the TAI file extension with the correct application.
- Update your software that should actually open data files. Because only the current version supports the latest TAI file format. Search, therefore, e.g. on the manufacturer website after an available WinAGI update.
- To make sure that your TAI file is not corrupted or virus-infected, get the file again and scan it with Google's virustotal.com.
- Click here to open your .TAI file online - secure, fast, and no downloads needed.
