What is a VPF file?

VPF files mostly belong to Anatomage. VPF files are not a single standard but a set of files that store preset or profile data for different systems.
Anatomage Table Preset File: These files use an SQL format to hold anatomical visualization settings. They are used with medical imaging systems to display 3D anatomical data. See more at Anatomage.
ESXi Host Profile: Some VPF files use XML to store configuration data for ESXi hosts managed by VMware vSphere. This file helps set up server parameters. More details are at VMware vSphere.

ViPER4Windows Audio Effect Preset: These VPF files store settings for audio effects in ViPER4Windows.

Video Presentation File: In certain cases, a VPF file uses an MP4-based structure to hold video presentation data for Oxford Player software (sometimes called ‘Viewpoint’).

Vaccination Profile File: Other VPF files use JSON to store user health profile information, often related to vaccination records.

This variety means that the same VPF extension can serve different functions. To view or modify a VPF file, you should use the dedicated application or examine its content using a plain text editor if it is in SQL, XML, or JSON format.

How to open a VPF file

You need a suitable software like Anatomage to open a VPF file. Without proper software you will receive a Windows message "How do you want to open this file?" or "Windows cannot open this file" or a similar Mac/iPhone/Android alert. If you cannot open your VPF file correctly, try to right-click or long-press the file. Then click "Open with" and choose an application. You can also display a VPF file directly in the browser:. VPF file format:

Every file has a defined file format, i.e. how the data is arranged in the file. Each file format has a unique extension and almost always a unique signature. For example, Microsoft Word documents have the extension .docx and the signature (usually the first 3 characters in this file) PK. File extension, signature and file format must match; otherwise errors will occur when the file is opened. So a detailed analysis of a file is vital in order to determine the format and the associated program. Our evaluation of the VPF files is as follows:

VPF is rarely used as a file extension and is used by many programs, each with its own file format. However, the following two file formats are common:

• 15% of all VPF files are based on the well-known XML file format. The Extensible Markup Language (XML) is a simple text-based format for representing structured information: documents, webpages, data, configuration, books, transactions, invoices, and much more. XML defines a set of rules for encoding documents in a format that is both human-readable and machine-readable. The contents of these files can even be read by a human. The file size is in the range of 950 KB to 2 MB. The files contain the following words: <obj xmlns:xsd="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema" xmlns:xsi="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema-instance" xmlns="urn:vim25" versionId="6.7.3" xsi:type="HostProfileConfigInfo"><name></name><enabled>true<. These files can be linked to profile and host.
• 10% of all VPF files use the same file format, which have the signature ViPER4WindowsX. These are binary files, so they do not contain words or text. The file size is in the range of 750 bytes to 810 bytes. The keywords ViPER4WindowsX are typical for these files.
