What is a XAD file

XAD files mostly belong to Agilent 2100 Bioanalyzer Expert. XAD files are used primarily as data containers for laboratory results from Agilent 2100 Bioanalyzer Expert software. The majority of these files are XML based, meaning they use a structured tag format to store measurement data from experiments.

How to open XAD files

You need a suitable software like Agilent 2100 Bioanalyzer Expert to open a XAD file. • 9% of all XAD files use the same file format, which have the signature <vt:day>. The content consists of readable text data, which can be read using a text editor. The files are often between 770 bytes and 870 bytes in size. Several words can almost always be found in the files, e.g. <vt:second>0.0</vt:second>, hour, minute, month, time_dif_utc, year and <vt:time_is_known>1</vt:time_is_known>. These files are attributed to person-related data.
