What is an XCM file?

XCM files mostly belong to XCsoar. An XCM file can contain different kinds of data.

How to open XCM files

The keywords info.txtU are typical for these files. Some examples of file names are UK_HighRes.xcm. These files are often associated with high and alps.
10% of all XCM files start with the bytes 161 crucial for this file format. The content consists of illegible binary data, which can only be read and interpreted by the associated programs. The files are 380 KB to 12 MB in size, with a median of 10 MB. Several words can almost always be found in the files, e.g. Holter.
