What is an XFM file

XFM files mostly belong to ON3D Dental Imaging. XFM files are files that store transformation data and can be used in several fields. They are not a single standardized format; instead, they come in different forms depending on the software that created them.

Dental X-ray files: These files often contain 3D image transformation data used in dental imaging systems. They are used to process and view 3D reconstructions from dental X-rays.

How to open XFM files

10% of all XFM files use ZIP compression, i.e. an XFM file contains several compressed files. Primarily 2 to 8 files are included. File names inside are Content.xml. Tip: If you rename the file ending to .zip and then double-click it, you see the included files and images. The files are on average 100 KB in size and range from 32 KB to 190 KB. The keywords Content.xml are typical for these files.
