What is a ZDP file

ZDP files mostly belong to Design & Print by Avery. A ZDP file is a product label design project created by DesignPro label design software for Windows. DesignPro was discontinued and replaced by Design & Print. Although Design & Print can open ZDP designs, It cannot save a project in ZDP format. Another type of ZDP file is an encrypted password database created by ZDNet Password Pro 32 password management and recovery software. ZDNet Password Pro 32 is now discontinued.

How to open a ZDP file

You need a suitable software like Design & Print to open a ZDP file. Without proper software you will receive a Windows message "How do you want to open this file?" or "Windows cannot open this file" or a similar Mac/iPhone/Android alert. If you cannot open your ZDP file correctly, try to right-click or long-press the file. Then click "Open with" and choose an application. You can also display a ZDP file directly in the browser:. ZDP file format:

The file format, which is the arrangement and type of data in a file, determines which program can open the file. The file format can be determined based on the file extension and the signature (the first few characters of a file). File extension, signature and file format must match; otherwise errors will occur when the file is opened. So a detailed analysis of a file is vital in order to determine the format and the associated program. Our examination of the ZDP files comes to the following conclusion:

The ZDP file type is a very commonly used file extension and is primarily used by a single program. However, the following two file formats are common:

• 95% of all ZDP files are based on the Microsoft Compound File format, known also as OLE2 Compound Document format or Composite Document File format. This file format is used by previous Microsoft Office programs and other Windows programs and stores the data in complex containers and sections. The Compound Document format is always starting with the bytes D0 CF 11 E0 A1 B1 1A E1. The app name of ZDP files is DesignPro, Avery DesignPro, Avery Zweckform DesignPro or Avery-Zweckform DesignPro. The internal containers are called Contents and SummaryInformation. The file size is in the range of 8 KB to 1 MB. This file type was primarily in use more than 10 years ago. These files can be linked to label, labels, card, visitenkarte, breit, business, vorlage, document and fach.
• 2% of all ZDP files use ZIP compression, so several files are combined and compressed into one ZDP file. 4 to 15 compressed files are common. File names inside are always A1.CTL, B1.CSV, C1.CSV, D1.CSV, E1.CSV, F1.CSV, G1.CSV, H1.CSV and I1.BLN. Tip: If you rename the file ending to .zip and then double-click it, you see the included files and images. The files are often between 130 KB and 14 MB in size.
