Opening a BAN File
The BAN file type is primarily associated with Specialized Apps.
What is a BAN file?
For example, some BAN files hold animation data for simulation programs. This includes files used in train or racing simulators that store 3D motion or skeletal animations. In other cases, BAN files contain team data for sports games, such as those used by Dream League Soccer and Pro Evolution Soccer, where a Java‐based format may be used.
Other BAN files are tied to graphic design and publishing. Certain files are saved as banner files for programs like Publisher Banner Maker or The Print Shop Deluxe, and they may use a compound file format. Additionally, there are cases where BAN files capture technical design data like rail profile geometry or store design information (for instance, MicroDraw BAN files for furniture design, often structured in XML).
Use cases include:
FilExt.com note: Only a few users realize that the same file extension can encompass such different file types based solely on its originating application.
How do you open BAN files?
You need a suitable software like Specialized Apps to open a BAN file. Without proper software you will receive a Windows message "How do you want to open this file?" or "Windows cannot open this file" or a similar Mac/iPhone/Android alert. If you cannot open your BAN file correctly, try to right-click or long-press the file. Then click "Open with" and choose an application. You can also display a BAN file directly in the browser:. Just drag the file onto this browser window and drop it.

Programs that open and convert BAN files:
- Specialized Apps
See the previous paragraphs to learn more about the main application. BAN files are often referred to as Specialized Apps data files because this type of file is primarily created or used by this software.

BAN format details:
A file format defines how the data in the file is structured. The initial characters of a file are called signature, sometimes also referred to as "magic bytes". The signature can be used to infer the file format. However, different programs can use the same file extension, and file extensions can be assigned incorrectly. When there is a problem with a file, the first step to solving it is to determine the file format. Below you will find our evaluation of the BAN files:
An BAN file includes different formats for different programs. However, the following two file formats are common:
- 25% of all BAN files store the data in the Java file format. This format is used to save Java objects to a file (ex. save game state as file) via object serialization. Such a Java object may contain functions and data like settings, images or videos. These files contain neither text nor words, but only data. The files are 1 KB to 3 KB in size, with a median of 1 KB. It is a modern file type. The keywords Ljava/lang/String;L, Ljava/util/ArrayList;L, aidI, cor1t, cor2q, sidI, tidZ, validI and vidL are typical for these files. Some examples of file names are 1deagosto_ang.ban. Such files are related to deagosto, barcelona and ajax.
- 25% of all BAN files start with the bytes CD CC, which are crucial for this file format. These are binary files, so they do not contain words or text. The files are 210 bytes to 4 KB in size, with a median of 740 bytes. Such files sometimes refer to panto, doors and left.
All the rest of the BAN files (50%) have different formats, such as DOC, JMXVBAN, ProgramName, FmArchiveVer and SRANIM. They are often associated with emot, attack, walk, banner, dance, indianajones, animation, skill, steer or ruby. Drag & drop your file here to see the file format and a preview of your BAN file!

a ban data file is a special file format and should only be edited and saved with the appropriate software.
How to solve problems with BAN files
- Associate the BAN file extension with the correct application.
- Update your software that should actually open data files. Because only the current version supports the latest BAN file format. Search, therefore, e.g. on the manufacturer website after an available Specialized Apps update.
- To make sure that your BAN file is not corrupted or virus-infected, get the file again and scan it with Google's virustotal.com.
- Click here to open your .BAN file online - secure, fast, and no downloads needed.
