What is an EXF file

EXF files mostly belong to CostX. EXF files are used by different software systems and do not represent a single, uniform format.

CostX Project Files: About half of the EXF files are used to store cost estimation and project data in the CostX system. These files contain specific measurement and estimate information and are to be opened using the proprietary CostX application from RIB Software.

Compressed Video & Metadata: A significant share of EXF files serve as containers for compressed video or camera recording metadata, linked with formats such as CPTF and used by applications like Mirillis Action.

How do you open EXF files?

You need a suitable software like CostX to open an EXF file.
