Opening an LDS File
The LDS file type is primarily associated with Lufthansa Systems.
What is an LDS file?
The file is a loadsheet file used by Lufthansa Systems. In these cases the file is actually a zipped archive (using the ZIP format) that stores load management data.

How to open an LDS file
You need a suitable software like Lufthansa Systems to open an LDS file. Without proper software you will receive a Windows message "How do you want to open this file?" or "Windows cannot open this file" or a similar Mac/iPhone/Android alert. If you cannot open your LDS file correctly, try to right-click or long-press the file. Then click "Open with" and choose an application. You can also display a LDS file directly in the browser:. Just drag the file onto this browser window and drop it.

LDS file format details:
If you can determine the file format, the associated program can also be determined. The initial characters of a file are called signature, sometimes also referred to as "magic bytes". The signature can be used to infer the file format. File extension, signature and file format must match; otherwise errors will occur when the file is opened. Knowledge is power - this also applies when dealing with unknown or faulty files. Below you will find our evaluation of the LDS files:
The LDS file extension covers different formats for different programs. But the following two file formats are common:
- 45% of all LDS files use the ZIP format, multiple files are compressed and combined into one LDS file. LDS files contain from 2 to 3 compressed files. You can see the included files and images by renaming the file extension to .zip and then double-clicking it. A typical file size is 13 KB. The files contain the following words: lstu. Such LDS files store data about vvts, eddp, eddw, ldza, aber, oerk, okbk, eddb, gclp, json, lddu, lgir, vvdn and vvnb.
- 5% of all LDS files start with the bytes 1C 00 00 00 crucial for this file format. These files are binary files, so they do not contain text, but only cryptic characters. The files are on average 560 KB in size and range from 5 KB to 560 KB. Certain words are almost always found in the files, such as DDS ! and DXT1. A usual file name is ball_01.lds. These files are often associated with armband.
All other LDS files (50%) have no consistent format, often e.g. LD Linker Script. The category is repaint, image, font, ldva, airlines, alcatraz or face. If you want to find out what your LDS file contains, drag and drop it onto this page.

an lds data container is a special file format and should only be edited and saved with the appropriate software.
How to solve problems with LDS files
- Associate the LDS file extension with the correct application.
- Update your software that should actually open data containers. Because only the current version supports the latest LDS file format. Search, therefore, e.g. on the manufacturer website after an available Lufthansa Systems update.
- To make sure that your LDS file is not corrupted or virus-infected, get the file again and scan it with Google's virustotal.com.
- Click here to open your .LDS file online - secure, fast, and no downloads needed.
