What is an NFO file?

NFO files mostly belong to Notepad by Microsoft. NFO is the filename extension of a text file containing information about various programs. Windows operating system saves system information in XML-encoded NFO files. Various file download managers use NFO files which contain additional information about a downloaded file and its source.
