What is an SRS file?

SRS files mostly belong to Microsoft Outlook by Microsoft. SRS is the extension for an Outlook Send/Receive settings file. Outlook is a personal email and calendar software from Microsoft that is also a part of the Microsoft Office suite of productivity software. The SRS file stores Send/Receive group settings in Outlook. These settings determine how frequently Outlook checks for new email from each account and how frequently it sends outgoing messages from each account. Email accounts can be added to Send/Receive groups and these settings are applied to the groups. By default, all accounts are included in the All Accounts group. To change group settings or remove an account from a group, select the Outlook inbox and go to the Send/Receive tab. Then, click on Send/Receive Groups and select Define Send/Receive Groups. The SRS file in Outlook typically has the file name OUTLOOK.SRS. If the SRS file is deleted or renamed, it is recreated with the default settings when Outlook restarts.

How to open SRS files

You need a suitable software like Microsoft Outlook to open an SRS file. Without proper software you will receive a Windows message "How do you want to open this file?" or "Windows cannot open this file" or a similar Mac/iPhone/Android alert. If you cannot open your SRS file correctly, try to right-click or long-press the file. Then click "Open with" and choose an application. You can also display a SRS file directly in the browser:. Just drag the file onto this browser window and drop it.
