SSF file format:
If you can determine the file format, the associated program can also be determined. The first characters in a file identify the file format, for example, HTML files start with the bytes <html>. Frequently, however, one file extension is used by different programs for different file formats, and one file format for different file extensions. So you need a detailed analysis of a file to find out the format and the associated program. Our evaluation of the SSF files is as follows:
SSF is one of the most common file extensions and is used by different programs with different formats. The two most common formats are as follows:
- 50% of all SSF files are associated with STL Stream Format. If you open these files in a text editor, you will see only illegible characters. SSF files can be up to 1 GB in size, but are often around 2 MB - 230 MB. The file type was developed 10 years ago and is still in use today. Several words can almost always be found in the files, e.g. STL Stream Format v1.0. Such files sometimes refer to schedule.
- 9% of all SSF files store the data in the zlib file format. Zlib is a compressed archive file format that supports several different data compression algorithms. zlib is also a crucial component of many software platforms, including Linux, macOS, and iOS. These files are binary files, so they do not contain text, but only cryptic characters. SSF files are between 180 KB and 4 MB in size. DAT0.ssf or DAT1.ssf is a typical file name.
All other SSF files (41%) have different formats, the following 16 formats exist: Trimble Standard Storage File GPS data, Mortal Kombat serie game data archive, SSF Saturn Sound Format rip, Enable SpreadSheet, Flash, ZIP, UTF-16 (LE), GZIP, Skin, FWS, SSF, SpecSurf and SEC. They are often associated with firmware, controller, hand, scan, control or wincfg. If you want to find out what your SSF file contains, drag and drop it onto this page.
