TORRENT file format:
To find out what program is needed to open TORRENT files, you need to determine the file format. The initial characters of a file are called signature, sometimes also referred to as "magic bytes". The signature can be used to infer the file format. File extension, signature and file format must match; otherwise errors will occur when the file is opened. Knowledge is power - this also applies when dealing with unknown or faulty files. Below you will find our evaluation of the TORRENT files:
The TORRENT extension is very commonly used. This TORRENT file itself is among the most popular common file types and contains well-defined data in an established structure that can be read by various programs. However, the following two file formats are common:
- 98% of all TORRENT files are Torrent files. They consist of unreadable binary data. TORRENT files are between 9 KB and 120 KB in size. This file type is based on cutting-edge technology. The keywords listll, tracker, announceel, announce13 and http are typical for these files. These files can be linked to movie, webrip, udemy, archive, course, free, rarbg, complete and tamil.
- 1% of all TORRENT files have the same signature magnet:?xt=urn:btih:. These files are plain text, which means they can be viewed with any text editor such as Windows Editor, Nano for Linux, and TextEdit for macOS. The file size is in the range of 100 bytes to 1 KB. The keywords btih, magnet and 2Ftracker are typical for these files. Files like these are sometimes connected to magnet.
The remaining 1% of all TORRENT files are different files with different signatures, often e.g. PDF. The category is adobe, collection, repack, edition, site or ggbases. If you want to find out what your TORRENT file contains, drag and drop it onto this page.
