Opening ATC Files
The ATC file type is primarily associated with Autodesk AutoCAD, AliveCor Kardia.
What is an ATC file?
For example, some ATC files hold tool data for design. In this case, a tool palette or tool catalog is saved by Autodesk applications to help manage drawing tools in a CAD workflow (Autodesk).
Other ATC files contain ECG recording information from mobile devices, such as those made by AliveCor, for capturing heart activity (AliveCor).
Additional variants include configuration files used by companies like Atech and AspenTech. These may be stored in a compressed format (for example, ZIP or Microsoft Compound formats) and serve to retain system or process settings. Some ATC files are also associated with attachment or encrypted data (as seen with AttacheCase files) and even gaming data (for example, in Arma 3).
- AutoCAD Tool Data: Stores palettes and catalogs to streamline CAD design.
- Medical Recordings: Contains ECG data from mobile recording devices.
- Configuration Files: Holds settings in compressed or compound formats.
- Attachment/Gaming Data: May include encrypted attachment or game-related information.
- Cache Files: Used in environments like Adobe for type or audiovisual profiles.
How to open ATC files
You need a suitable software like Autodesk AutoCAD, AliveCor Kardia to open an ATC file. Without proper software you will receive a Windows message "How do you want to open this file?" or "Windows cannot open this file" or a similar Mac/iPhone/Android alert. If you cannot open your ATC file correctly, try to right-click or long-press the file. Then click "Open with" and choose an application. You can also display a ATC file directly in the browser:. Just drag the file onto this browser window and drop it.

Programs that open and convert ATC files:
- Autodesk AutoCAD, AliveCor Kardia
See the previous paragraphs to learn more about the main application. ATC files are often referred to as Autodesk AutoCAD, AliveCor Kardia data files because this type of file is primarily created or used by this software.
- AceText (Collection) by JGsoft - Just Great SoftwareAceText is a smart software tool that simplifies working with text by enabling you to store, manage, edit and reuse text from a central location. An AceText Collection file contains the collection of clips (text snippets) you created with AceText. EditPad Pro uses the same file format to store its Clip Collection (accessible from the View menu). The identifying characters used for this association are - Hex: 41 43 45 54 45 58 54, ASCII: ACETEXT.
- AutoCAD (Catalog) by Autodesk, Inc.Also used by AutoCAD LT.
- Sniffer (Capture File) by Network Associates Technology, Inc.
ATC file format:
If you can determine the file format, the associated program can also be determined. A file format is determined by the file extension and signature, so JPEG images have the extension .jpg and the first bytes in the file are ÿØÿ. If the file extension or signature does not match the file format, errors will occur when opening or editing the file. So a detailed analysis of a file is vital in order to determine the format and the associated program. Our evaluation of the ATC files looks like this:
ATC is not that commonly used as a file extension. This file type is used by a few programs, each with its own file format. However, the following two file formats are common:
- 20% of all ATC files are based on the well-known XML file format. The Extensible Markup Language (XML) is a simple text-based format for representing structured information: documents, webpages, data, configuration, books, transactions, invoices, and much more. XML defines a set of rules for encoding documents in a format that is both human-readable and machine-readable. The contents of these files are easily readable with a text editor. The average file size is 29 KB with most files being between 390 bytes and 110 KB in size. The files contain the following words: ItemID idValue, Properties, Images option, Palette FileRevision, ItemName and Time. Such files sometimes refer to tools and meva.
- 9% of all ATC files have the same signature ALIVE. These are binary files, so they do not contain words or text. The files are 18 KB to 100 KB in size, with a median of 100 KB. The files contain the following words: ALIVE, info and aliveecg 5.8.1-1c6edcd48. Such files sometimes refer to enhanced.
All other ATC files (71%) have no uniform format, frequently e.g. ZIP and AttacheCaseDatai. They are often associated with custom, profiles, catalog, vouchers, livery or emoji. You can get all the details of your ATC file by dragging it onto this page or by clicking the button "Choose your .atc file to analyze" above.

an atc data file is a special file format and should only be edited and saved with the appropriate software.
How to solve problems with ATC files
- Associate the ATC file extension with the correct application.
- Update your software that should actually open data files. Because only the current version supports the latest ATC file format. Search, therefore, e.g. on the manufacturer website after an available Autodesk AutoCAD, AliveCor Kardia update.
- To make sure that your ATC file is not corrupted or virus-infected, get the file again and scan it with Google's virustotal.com.
- Click here to open your .ATC file online - secure, fast, and no downloads needed.
