How to open BLC files

To find out what program is needed to open BLC files, you need to determine the file format. The file format can be determined based on the file extension and the signature (the first few characters of a file). If the file extension or signature does not match the file format, errors will occur when opening or editing the file. If there are problems opening a file, you must first determine the file format used. Our evaluation of the BLC files looks like this:

BLC is not a commonly used file extension and includes a lot of different file formats for different programs. The two most popular formats are as follows:

• 6% of all BLC files start with the magic bytes C3 DF 1A 00, which are always the first bytes of this file format. They consist of illegible, cryptic characters. The files are on average 170 KB in size and range from 21 KB to 430 KB. A common filename is fb14_20180601.blc or fb00_20180601.blc.
• 5% of all BLC files use the same file format, which have the signature 00 03 03 E8 03. These files contain neither text nor words, but only data. BLC files can be up to 15 KB in size, but are often around 700 bytes - 15 KB.

The remaining 89% of all BLC files are different files with different signatures, often e.g. Block Breaker pattern and ZIP. These files sometimes refer to data, license, bplus or ebaf.
