What is a CAM file?

CAM files mostly belong to Eagle by Autodesk. CAM filename extension is associated with files created with Drawing Editor and saved in FastCAM format. The contents of these CAM files may include the thickness, material, path, and quantity of an object. CAM filename extension is also associated with printed circuit board (PCB) designs saved in Gerber vector graphics format. Such PCB designs may have been created with programs such as Eagle or CircuitCAM. HouseCall, an anti-malware program saves a backup of its AUTOEXEC.BAT file in a CAM file. CimaGraphi, a CAD/CAM product design software saves some CAD data in CAM files. How to open CAM files

You need a suitable software like Eagle to open a CAM file. Without proper software you will receive a Windows message "How do you want to open this file?" or "Windows cannot open this file" or a similar Mac/iPhone/Android alert. If you cannot open your CAM file correctly, try to right-click or long-press the file. Then click "Open with" and choose an application. You can also display a CAM file directly in the browser:. 45% of all CAM files are Casio QV digital CAMera bitmap files. The content consists of illegible binary data, which can only be read and interpreted by the associated programs.
