What is a CCT file

CCT files mostly belong to Director by Adobe. CCT file format is associated with the Macromedia Director software created by Macromedia and managed later on by Adobe.

Use: Director is the main editor on the Adobe Shockwave platform used for developing content such as games, animation sequences, movies and advertisements in the 1990s. Projects developed with the Director application are stored in multiple format such as DIR, DRX, DXR and DCR depending on the operating system and security levels. Each one of the media elements, called as cast, present in these project files such as sound, video, images, text, and buttons are stored separately under the file extension CCT. Microsoft Windows Live Messenger application also uses CCT files for storing contact information of individuals. DesignWorks software uses CCT files to hold schematic data. Railroad Tycoon 3 game uses CCT files to store car type description information.

How to open a CCT file

You need a suitable software like Director to open a CCT file. Without proper software you will receive a Windows message "How do you want to open this file?" or "Windows cannot open this file" or a similar Mac/iPhone/Android alert. Such files sometimes refer to circuit and project.

The remaining 35% of all CCT files are different files with different signatures, often, for example, RIFX, XML, attrib, RFSim and Block.
