Programs that open and convert CDOC files:
- DigiDoc Client
See the previous paragraphs to learn more about the main application. CDOC files are often referred to as DigiDoc Client encodeds because this type of file is primarily created or used by this software.
- DigiDoc Client / Clicker 7The *.CDOC file extension is primarily associated with two distinct file formats. The most prevalent format, comprising 69% of observed *.CDOC files, is used by the DigiDoc Client software for Estonian encrypted documents. These files employ XML for their internal structure. Less commonly, representing 26% of instances, *.CDOC refers to Clicker 5 documents, utilized by the Clicker 7 and Clicker 8 software. This file format is classified as Encrypted Document / Assistive Technology Document.
CDOC format details:
The file format determines how the data is stored in the file. A file format is determined by the file extension and signature, so JPEG images have the extension .jpg and the first bytes in the file are ÿØÿ. If the file extension does not match the file format, double-clicking on the file will cause an error upon opening. When there is a problem with a file, the first step to solving it is to determine the file format. Our evaluation of the CDOC files looks like this:
The CDOC file extension is rarely used and mainly uses a special format. However, the following two file formats are common:
- 80% of all CDOC files use the popular XML file format. The Extensible Markup Language (XML) is a simple text-based format for representing structured information: documents, webpages, data, configuration, books, transactions, invoices, and much more. XML defines a set of rules for encoding documents in a format that is both human-readable and machine-readable. The contents of these files are easily readable with a text editor. The average file size is 280 KB with most files being between 58 KB and 1 MB in size. The file type is relatively new. Certain words are almost always found in the files, such as <denc:EncryptedData xmlns:denc="http://www.w3.org/2001/04/xmlenc#" MimeType="application/octet-stream">, <denc:EncryptionMethod Algorithm="http://www.w3.org/2 and <?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?>. Files like these are about teade, kauba, avamisest, document, patient, nnit and pola, and often consist of personal data.
- 15% of all CDOC files have the same signature ------=_Part_. These files are text files and can therefore be read using a text editor. CDOC files are between 3 KB and 660 KB in size. The following keywords are characteristic: ------, Part, <head>, <html>, Content-Type: text/html, <style type=3D"text/css">, Content-Transfer-Encoding: quoted-printable and body { font-family. Files like these are about mars, sentences and mission.
All the rest of the CDOC files (5%) have different formats. Just click the "Choose your .cdoc file to analyze" button on this page to find out what your CDOC file is.
