How to open CSG files
You need a suitable software like OpenSCAD to open a CSG file. Without proper software you will receive a Windows message "How do you want to open this file?" or "Windows cannot open this file" or a similar Mac/iPhone/Android alert. The files are 2 KB to 500 KB in size, with a median of 33 KB. Certain words are almost always found in the files, such as group() {, multmatrix, difference() { and union() {.
- 9% of all CSG files have the same signature 01 00 00 00 02 00 00 00 18. If you open these files in a text editor, you will see only illegible characters. CSG files can be up to 500 bytes in size, but are often around 290 bytes - 450 bytes. An example of a file name is apps.csg or settings.csg.
