CURVE file format:
A file format defines how the data in the file is structured. The first characters in a file identify the file format, for example, HTML files start with the bytes <html>. File extension, signature and file format must match; otherwise errors will occur when the file is opened. If there are problems opening a file, you must first determine the file format used. Our evaluation of the CURVE files is as follows:
The file type with the extension 'CURVE' predominantly uses a uniform format. But the following two file formats are common:
- 75% of all CURVE files use ZIP compression, so several files are compressed and saved in one CURVE file. A CURVE file can contain up to 200 files (mostly 2 - 8). Customary file names are Document.json, Manifest.json and Thumbnail.png. Tip: If you rename the file ending to .zip and then double-click it, you see the included files and images. The files are 71 KB to 6 MB in size, with a median of 820 KB. The files contain the following words: Document, Manifest, Thumbnail, documentJSONFilename, fileFormatVersion, json and thumbnailImageFilename. Files like these have the following tags: logo, tulo, vector, document, thailoei, bade, targetes, design and shirt.
- 3% of all CURVE files use the same file format, which have the signature 23 20. These files are text files and can therefore be read using a text editor. The files are often between 30 KB and 90 KB in size. The following keywords are characteristic: # Profile 1 at 0.0000%, 17.6665786 -2.09565164 0.0286254632 and 17.6666512 -2.09671638 0.0296213846. Examples of file names are profile.curve. Files like these are sometimes connected to blade and rotor.
All other CURVE files (22%) have different formats, often e.g. Sensor. The category is sample, shroud, content, peppan, gene, illustration, throughflow, vectornator, instagram, extended, simple, sales, bdbf, foie, gras, nasa, post, sans or sign. If you want to find out which format your CURVE file belongs to, just click on the button "Choose your .curve file to view".
