CVG file format:
The file format, which is the arrangement and type of data in a file, determines which program can open the file. The file format can be deduced from the file extension and the signature. If the file extension or signature does not match the file format, errors will occur when opening or editing the file. So you need a detailed analysis of a file to find out the format and the associated program. In the following you will find our evaluation of the CVG files:
The CVG file extension is not widely used. Such a file is mainly used by one program with a specific format. However, the following two file formats are common:
- 75% of all CVG files store the data in the XML file format. The Extensible Markup Language (XML) is a simple text-based format for representing structured information: documents, webpages, data, configuration, books, transactions, invoices, and much more. XML defines a set of rules for encoding documents in a format that is both human-readable and machine-readable. These files are text files and can therefore be read using a text editor. Most of these files are 470 KB to 43 MB in size. It is a modern file type. The following keywords are characteristic: <?xml version="1.0"?>, <Content roleRe and <IPC-2581 xmlns:xsd="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema" xmlns:xsi="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema-instance" revision="B" xmlns="http://webstds.ipc.org/2581">. These files can be linked to board, sensor and revb.
- 8% of all CVG files are Calamus Vector Graphic files. They consist of illegible, cryptic characters. CVG files can be up to 30 KB in size, but are often around 360 bytes - 16 KB. Several words can almost always be found in the files, e.g. CALAMUSCVG.
The remaining 17% of all CVG files are files with no common format, the following 3 formats exist: Solution. They are often associated with logo. If you want to find out which format your CVG file belongs to, just click on the button "Choose your .cvg file to view".
Technical Data for CVG File Extension

How to solve problems with CVG files
- Associate the CVG file extension with the correct application.
- Update your software that should actually open images. Because only the current version supports the latest CVG file format. Search, therefore, e.g. on the invers manufacturer website after an available Calamus update.
- To make sure that your CVG file is not corrupted or virus-infected, get the file again and scan it with Google's virustotal.com.
- Click here to open your .CVG file online - secure, fast, and no downloads needed.
