Opening a DXG File
The DXG file type is primarily associated with Delphi.
What is a DXG file?
How to open DXG files
You need a suitable software like Delphi to open a DXG file. Without proper software you will receive a Windows message "How do you want to open this file?" or "Windows cannot open this file" or a similar Mac/iPhone/Android alert. If you cannot open your DXG file correctly, try to right-click or long-press the file. Then click "Open with" and choose an application. You can also display a DXG file directly in the browser:. Just drag the file onto this browser window and drop it.

DXG file format:
A file format defines how the data in the file is structured. Each file format has a unique extension and almost always a unique signature. For example, Microsoft Word documents have the extension .docx and the signature (usually the first 3 characters in this file) PK. File extension, signature and file format must match; otherwise errors will occur when the file is opened. So a detailed analysis of a file is vital in order to determine the format and the associated program. Our evaluation of the DXG files is as follows:
DXG is rarely used as a file extension and is used by different programs with different formats. The file formats most commonly found in DXG files are:
- 30% of all DXG files start with the bytes FF 0A 00 44 45 4C 50 48 49 58, which are crucial for this file format. They consist of unreadable binary data. The files are on average 2 MB in size and range from 130 KB to 9 MB. The file type was primarily used more than 20 years ago. Certain words are almost always found in the files, such as TPF0, DELPHIXPICTURECOLLECTION, TPictureCollectionComponent, List, Name, PatternHeight, PatternWidth, Picture.Data and List.ColorTable. Such files sometimes refer to grafika, course and hole.
- 10% of all DXG files use the same file format, which have the signature ¸ ß5æöd¹fS®=¾Ç . They consist of illegible, cryptic characters. DXG files are between 27 KB and 42 KB in size.
All other DXG files (60%) have no consistent format, the following 6 formats can be found: XML and DXG. They are often associated with winsys. Drag & drop your file here to see the file format and a preview of your DXG file!
Technical Data for DXG File Extension

How to solve problems with DXG files
- Associate the DXG file extension with the correct application.
- Update your software that should actually open graphics files. Because only the current version supports the latest DXG file format. Search, therefore, e.g. on the manufacturer website after an available Delphi update.
- To make sure that your DXG file is not corrupted or virus-infected, get the file again and scan it with Google's virustotal.com.
- Click here to open your .DXG file online - secure, fast, and no downloads needed.
