What is a DXG file?

DXG files mostly belong to Delphi. DXG files are not a single standard format but a file extension used in different software applications.

The most common usage is as a Delphi picture collection, which stores image data for Delphi-based projects.

They also appear as compressed image files in applications like Dxgraph, sometimes associated with Canon RAW Image Format.

How to open DXG files

You need a suitable software like Delphi to open a DXG file. Without proper software you will receive a Windows message "How do you want to open this file?" or "Windows cannot open this file" or a similar Mac/iPhone/Android alert. If you cannot open your DXG file correctly, try to right-click or long-press the file. Then click "Open with" and choose an application. You can also display a DXG file directly in the browser:. A file format defines how the data in the file is structured. Each file format has a unique extension and almost always a unique signature. The files are on average 2 MB in size and range from 130 KB to 9 MB. The file type was primarily used more than 20 years ago. Certain words are almost always found in the files, such as TPF0, DELPHIXPICTURECOLLECTION, TPictureCollectionComponent, List, Name, PatternHeight, PatternWidth, Picture.Data and List.ColorTable. Such files sometimes refer to grafika, course and hole.
10% of all DXG files use the same file format, which have the signature ¸ ß5æöd¹fS®=¾Ç . They consist of illegible, cryptic characters. DXG files are between 27 KB and 42 KB in size.
