All about FRF Files
The FRF file type is primarily associated with FastReport.
What is an FRF file?
Other variations exist. Some FRF files are used as Volkswagen firmware files that store flash data for automotive systems, while others come from ABBYY FineReader as FreeRec files with recognized text and OCR data. There are also FRF files for the FLIR report format, which may use ZIP compression to bundle data, and some files carry frequency response function information used in modal analysis with engineering tools like LMS Test.Lab.
Usage and Functionality:
How to open FRF files
You need a suitable software like FastReport to open an FRF file. Without proper software you will receive a Windows message "How do you want to open this file?" or "Windows cannot open this file" or a similar Mac/iPhone/Android alert. If you cannot open your FRF file correctly, try to right-click or long-press the file. Then click "Open with" and choose an application. You can also display a FRF file directly in the browser:. Just drag the file onto this browser window and drop it.

FRF format details:
If you can determine the file format, the associated program can also be determined. Often, the file format can be deduced from the file extension or the initial bytes (called the signature). If the file extension does not match the file format, double-clicking on the file will cause an error upon opening. Exact knowledge of the format is therefore important in order to solve problems occurring in files. Below you will find our evaluation of the FRF files:
The FRF extension is quite commonly used. The file itself includes different formats for different programs. However, the following two file formats are common:
- 30% of all FRF files start with the magic bytes 19 00 00 00, which are always the first bytes of this file format. The contents of these files cannot be read by a human; only a computer program can interpret the data. Most of these files are 4 KB to 75 KB in size. The file type was created 10 years ago, but is still used today. Certain words are almost always found in the files, such as Form and Memo. An example of a file name is Untitled.frf. Such FRF files store data about report, absen, pmclr, articulos, faktura, recibo and daily.
- 10% of all FRF files use the same file format, which have the signature 0A 9C 92 7C 51 A5 E1. The contents of these files cannot be read by a human; only a computer program can interpret the data. FRF files are between 110 KB and 2 MB in size. The following filename is common: FL_4K0941592A_0031.frf.
All the rest of the FRF files (60%) have different formats, such as AHSI. Sometimes used for wydruk, trans, auto, invoice, bill or list. Just click the "Choose your .frf file to analyze" button on this page to find out what your FRF file is.
Technical Data for FRF File Extension
The following listing is compiled from the database produced by the 'Associate This!' program, selected data from the main FILExt database and file extension information submitted by users.
an frf report file is a special file format and should only be edited and saved with the appropriate software.
How to solve problems with FRF files
- Associate the FRF file extension with the correct application.
- Update your software that should actually open report files. Because only the current version supports the latest FRF file format. Search, therefore, e.g. on the manufacturer website after an available FastReport update.
- To make sure that your FRF file is not corrupted or virus-infected, get the file again and scan it with Google's virustotal.com.
- Click here to open your .FRF file online - secure, fast, and no downloads needed.
