What is a GRL file?

GRL files mostly belong to Lucidchart. GRL files are not a single type of file. They are used in different fields to store various kinds of data.
For example, one common use is for diagram files such as those created by Lucidchart. These files can be in a compressed ZIP format and store graphical representation data (also known as Edraw Max diagram files). Material and Data Libraries: Files in this group might store material grade data for technical equipment, used by companies like Hitachi High-Tech.

Game Resource Lists: These are used by certain video games to list resource data.

Chart or Graph Files: In some cases, the file is XML based and holds graph data (Grapher Chart File) that programs like Chart2D might use.

How to open a GRL file

The file format determines how the data is stored in the file. The file format can be determined based on the file extension and the signature (the first few characters of a file). If the file extension does not match the file format, double-clicking on the file will cause an error upon opening. So you need a detailed analysis of a file to find out the format and the associated program. Our evaluation of the GRL files is as follows:

The GRL file ending is used by different programs with different formats. The following file formats are most commonly found in GRL files:

• 25% of all GRL files start with the bytes LARG crucial for this file format. They consist of illegible, cryptic characters. A typical file size is 71 KB. The file name Flow Chart.grl is typical for these files. These files can be linked to flow, chart, flowchart, process, plan, layout and floor.

All the rest of the GRL files (55%) have different formats, often, for example, XML, MSPGRL, KLnT, Name, Number and GFRL. These files sometimes refer to recording, colorref, smallexample, library, distribution, report or cref.
