The IBP file type is primarily associated with ImgBurn.
What is an IBP file?
- Disc Image File: An IBP file is a disc image that contains an exact copy of a CD or DVD.
- Created by ImgBurn: This file is generated by ImgBurn to store the entire content and layout of an optical disc.
- Usage: It is used for backing up, replicating, and preserving disc content, keeping the data structure intact.
- Compatibility: To open and view an IBP file, use ImgBurn or compatible programs such as IsoBuster. More information is available at ImgBurn's download page.
FilExt.com note: Each IBP file holds not just the data but also project details that ensure an accurate replication when burning the disc again.

IBP file extension format:
A file format defines how the data in the file is structured. Often, the file format can be deduced from the file extension or the initial bytes (called the signature). However, different programs can use the same file extension. Furthermore, a file extension can be renamed incorrectly and double-clicking on it will then display an error when it is opened. So a detailed analysis of a file is vital in order to determine the format and the associated program. Below is our analysis of the IBP files:
The IBP file extension is not common and is mainly used by one program with a specific format. The following file formats are most commonly found in IBP files:
- 75% of all IBP files belong to IsoBuster managed image. The content consists of illegible binary data, which can only be read and interpreted by the associated programs. The file size is in the range of 4 KB to 280 KB. The file type was developed 10 years ago and is still in use today. The keywords IBP file are typical for these files. A usual file name is DVD-R.ibp or CD.ibp. Such IBP files store data about movie and video.
All other IBP files (25%) have different formats. You can get all the details of your IBP file by dragging it onto this page or by clicking the button "Choose your .ibp file to analyze" above.
